Guests and Members of the Rotary Club of Faringdon and District recently enjoyed a countryside walk near Longworth, following a scenic route along the River Thames. The walk offered time for conversation and connection in a relaxed setting, and concluded with a meal at the Blue Boar pub in the village.
There was a cheerful and friendly atmosphere as club members gathered for food and conversation. The event also marked a moment of transition, as the incoming club president, Mohinder, gave a short speech to thank his predecessor, Karen, for her service over the past two years.

Mohinder praised Karen for the considerable work she had undertaken during her time as president. He noted that the club is now in a stronger position, with its finances reviewed and reorganised to support future activity. He also acknowledged her continuing role as treasurer for 2025 and 2026.
Under Karen’s leadership, the club has remained active in both local and international charitable work. Recent projects have included contributions to events such as Truckfest, the Buscot run, and Dragons’ Den, all of which have helped raise funds and awareness for important causes. Karen’s leadership has taken the club forward to have a really positive impact on the community.
Mohinder’s comments reflected a shared appreciation among members for the progress made and the sense of continuity as the club moves forward. The afternoon ended with a sense of optimism about the year to come.
