Rotakids – Fun, Friendship and Making a Difference!

Have you heard about Rotakids? It’s a brilliant club for children aged 7 to 12 in Faringdon – and we’ve got space for more members!

Every Tuesday during term time (5.30–6.30pm in the Old Town Hall), Rotakids come together to learn, play, create and give back to the community. The best bit? Thanks to support from Faringdon & District Rotary and the White Horse Community Lottery, it’s completely free to join – yes, really! Membership even includes a Rotakids t-shirt and hat, plus a snack and drink at each session.

What do Rotakids do?

Quite a lot, actually! One week it might be crafts or games, the next it could be learning about a global charity like ShelterBox or Aquabox. Members get stuck into fundraising, take part in local events, and discover the incredible work Rotary does both locally and around the world.

Here’s just a flavour of what’s coming up this term:

  • Spooky Halloween games and crafts 🎃
  • A visit from Sjoerd Vogt to talk about the Folly Tower’s 90th anniversary
  • Helping at Faringdon Fireworks Night 🎆
  • First aid training
  • Laying a wreath on Remembrance Day
  • Making Christmas gift bags for children in Kharkiv, Ukraine 🎁
  • Running games at Festive Faringdon

And yes – there’s always lots of fun along the way.

Rotakids at the Folly Tower

The Rotakids will have their very own gazebo at the Folly Tower’s 90th anniversary celebrations on Saturday 8th November. They’ll be running games as part of the festivities, so do come along, say hello, and show your support.

Why join Rotakids?

Because it’s about more than just having fun (though there’s plenty of that!). Rotakids learn the values of fairness, respect and community – all while making friends, trying new things, and discovering how even small actions can make a big difference.
