For over 35 years, Rotary have supported the eradication of Polio from the World, both financially and with Rotarian’s on the ground administrating vaccinations. The Purple crocuses represent the purple dye that is applied to each child’s finger to indicate that they have received a polio vaccine. For several years the Rotary Club of Faringdon & District has participated in the initiative to plant purple crocuses in public areas across Faringdon, Clanfield, Shrivenham, Fernham, uffingtonand and Kingston Bagpuzie.
