A number of grants will be awarded each year.

To help you with your application you may want to consider the criteria we apply when evaluating applications including:

1. Applicant Eligibility: To ensure that the allocated funds serve their intended purpose effectively, the Rotary Club stipulates that only registered charities or community groups are eligible to apply for assistance. Commercial (for profit) concerns and companies are not eligible.

2. Addressing Local Needs: Each proposed activity, facility, or project undergoes scrutiny to ascertain its relevance to local needs. Whether it’s supporting educational initiatives, healthcare services, environmental conservation efforts, or cultural enrichment programmes, the Rotary Club prioritises endeavours that directly address and alleviate prevalent challenges within the community.

3. Long-Term Support and Sustainability: Beyond mere financial assistance, the Rotary Club is committed to providing enduring support beyond financial assistance, for initiatives that demonstrate a clear path towards long-term sustainability.

4. Community Impact: The Rotary Club evaluates the potential impact of each proposed endeavour on the local populace. Projects that promise to enhance the quality of life, foster community cohesion, or contribute to economic prosperity are accorded special consideration.

5. Beneficiaries: Central to the Rotary Club’s funding decisions is the question of who stands to benefit from the proposed activity, facility, or project. Whether it’s children, the elderly, marginalised groups, or the broader community, the club seeks initiatives that cater to diverse demographic segments and promote inclusivity.

6. Reach and Scale: The Rotary Club assesses the scale and reach of each initiative to gauge its effectiveness in reaching the intended beneficiaries. Projects with a wide-reaching impact, capable of positively influencing the lives of a significant number of individuals, are viewed favourably.

7. Societal Demographics: Recognising the multifaceted nature of community needs, the Rotary Club prioritises initiatives that cater to diverse segments of society. Whether it’s supporting youth development programmes, empowering women’s groups, or aiding vulnerable populations, the club endeavours to foster social equity and inclusion.

8. Value for Money: In allocating funds, the Rotary Club evaluates the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of each proposed initiative. Projects that demonstrate a judicious use of resources, with tangible outcomes commensurate with the investment, are given precedence.

The Dragons-Den inspired funding approach adopted by the Rotary Club Faringdon and District symbolises a collective endeavour to foster positive change, uplift the community, and sow the seeds of enduring prosperity.
