White Horse Rotary Group are a small and growing group of members of local residents of Faringdon and the surrounding areas. The Group is a satellite of Faringdon Rotary Club. We are all at different stages of life and found that meeting twice a month to brainstorm, plan and carry out fundraising activities to benefit our nominated local and international charities.
It can be tricky to get all of the group to stand still long enough for a photo, here are a few from different events that capture everyone, just not all at the same time and in the same place ….!!!!
We have some official roles: Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer – this is Peter Walker, Treasurer of the main group. The Chair usually sets the agenda and goes through it, the Secretary takes notes and sends to all group members, we also have a member who attends the Faringdon Main Group Council meetings and feeds back to the White Horse Group.
We usually meet on the first Thursday evening 8-9.30pm at a local pub and every third Saturday 10.30-12noon over coffee. These meetings are informal and although we have an agenda this is to make sure we cover all we need to!
Since Covid-19 and social distancing regulations have come into force, we have been meeting via Zoom. As our ability to fundraise has been halted we are only meeting once a month.
We are looking at alternative ways to fundraise and would welcome any visitors to our meetings to share any ideas!
