After two covid summers with no Truck Festival, thousands of people were very excited to be back at Hill Farm near Didcot for the music festival. Members and friends of White Horse Rotary Faringdon were serving their famous pizzas in the Feel Good Tent alongside the other charity food stands. We kept to our winning formula and kept it simple. Four pizza flavours, half or whole, plus garlic bread. Margherita pizzas were definitely the most popular, from 9am through to midnight.
We ran out of stock on Saturday afternoon so couldn’t keep going as long as we had planned but it was great to see so many happy customers return to us after two covid summers with no Truck. We were in the Feel Good Tent again with the other charity food stands – lots of familiar faces and all working hard to serve the lovely customers and raise funds for our chosen causes.
This has traditionally been our biggest annual fundraiser, enabling us to support lots of local charities and activities as well as some great international projects. So it was great to be back for so many reasons.
A great team effort, led by Laura, Mel and Clive. We agreed that Roddy may have been looking down on us and chuckling at some of the difficulties, but we hope he was proud of the success. (And the stock issue wasn’t our mistake!)
