Rotary Club Faringdon supports Friendship Cafe

The Rotary Club of Faringdon and District is proud to support the Faringdon Friendship and Memory Café, a local initiative offering connection and companionship to those who need it most.

The café provides a welcoming space for people to meet, talk, and enjoy the comfort of company. It is particularly valuable for older residents and those affected by memory loss, including dementia. Everyone is met with warmth, conversation, and a cup of tea.

Our vice chair, Mohinder, was recently featured in Rotary Great Britain magazine, where he spoke about the café’s impact. He described how spaces like this help tackle loneliness, support carers, and bring joy through shared stories and social interaction.

Rotary’s support helps fund and support the activities ensuring the café remains a friendly and safe place for all.

As Mohinder puts it: “When people feel seen, heard, and valued, lives are changed for the better.”

The Friendship and Memory Café meets regularly and welcomes both new visitors and volunteers.
