Rotary Club of Faringdon & District Supports Maggie’s in Memory of Roddy

Roddy was a valued and active member of Rotary Club of Faringdon & District, dedicated to helping others. A passionate fundraiser, he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro on his 60th birthday, ran marathons, and dressed as Father Christmas for charity each year.

In 2020, Roddy was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Despite major surgery and chemotherapy, he passed away 18 months later, with his family by his side. Throughout this time, Maggie’s provided vital support to him and his loved ones, particularly his wife.

To honour his legacy, Roddy’s children – Chris, Joe, Abby, and Kate – are running a marathon to raise funds for Maggie’s. In support of their effort, Rotary Club of Faringdon & District has raised £1,000 for the charity.

Maggie’s offers free practical, emotional, and financial support to those affected by cancer. With 24 centres across the UK, including four in London, they welcome over 100 visitors daily, providing expert guidance in a calm, supportive environment.

Roddy’s family continues his fundraising spirit with this challenge. Whether donating in his memory, supporting Maggie’s, or simply following their journey, all contributions are deeply appreciated. Click Here to support Chris, Joe, Abby and Kate with their fundraising efforts.
